Perhaps the
best way to describe who I am is to share what was perhaps
one of the most defining moments of my life. Around my late
teens, I found myself so fully depressed and with such a
sense of hopelessness that I could not lie to myself any
further. After learning all of my lessons on life through
high school I "gave up the hassle" and dropped out. In high
school I believed that smoking and drinking were cool, that
to be important and acknowledged was central to success,
and that money would buy me happiness. I spent a good deal
of my time looking up to my friends and by doing so,
placing myself below them. My continuous states of
depression and fatigue were complimented by a fast food
diet and the regular intake of toxins. I had believed
throughout high school that I needed to shut down my
capacity to feel to survive, and I was so identified with
the mask that I presented to everyone that I would not have
imagined I could be anything else. After self induced
states of depression and hopelessness I hit the bottom, and
found myself looking face to face with someone whom would
be a catalyst for something new forever.
Through a conversation on a late, winter day in a quiet
office, I began to face the truth. I was prompted to have a
fresh look at each area of my life and what I wanted in it.
The questions prompted me to discover what steps I could
take to move forward in each of these areas. I remember the
shift from being fully at the control of the world to
realizing the power that I held. I could feel it pulsing
through my body and carried that sensation with me as I
left the office. I had my
first experience
of
coaching.
To this day I feel gratitude for the difference that the
process that I experienced was shared with me. Within a few
years I was a 4.0 college student, the founder of a
successful business, and moving quickly from my personal,
self created dungeon to a life that I was really proud of.
I flowed quickly into a leadership role, claiming my
ability to learn quickly and inspire motivation and action
as a team leader. A year later I graduated college in San
Francisco at CIIS and began coaching and facilitating group
process. Through my work with individuals and groups I have
experienced the deepest joy of my life, gratitude for all
of the interconnected facets of the living earth and its
manifold expressions, and a sense of meaning and purpose
that still resides deeply within.
Purpose
My purpose
is to drop so fully
into the state of being that my essential nature shines
out into the world as a beacon, that I am ease-fully and
gracefully aligned and in integrity, and that I
naturally
support the
unfoldment process in myself and others.
Through my life I have realized that my potential to
express creativity and joy are directly tied to the level
at which I am identified with anything less then my
essential nature. When I integrate each aspect of my
authentic self, alignment becomes my natural flow, and
problems resolve effortlessly. Einstein referred to the
shift in consciousness that comes with this state of
expanded awareness when he taught that "we cannot solve a
problem from the same state of consciousness that it was
created in".
Mission
My life's
mission is to come
alive,
to thrive in my
interactions, and to inspire
greatness of mind and spirit through sustainable change.
Coaching
Style
My Practice is built upon some basic assumptions about the
nature of life and relationship. Here are a couple of them.
1) You have all of the answers you could ever want within.
Even
if you are not aware that you have your own solutions
inside, I operate from the understanding that you don't
need me in the picture to create what you want in life. The
role that I play is not one of a mentor at all. My role is
that of the evocatuer. I see you. Even if you don't
recognize your inherent brilliance, my job is to call it
forth. Rather then hold you accountable to goals that you
may or may not be fully committed to, my role is to evoke
that which is within you that yearns to be unleashed, to
create, to express itself in whatever way you express your
heart-song. Yes, when people want results they often get
them through our sessions, but not from me doing
anything, rather its
from who
you
are
being
-
the state of
consciousness that you choose to embrace during our time
together.
2) If we want to shift something about our life, we benefit
by becoming aware of both conscious and unconscious
commitments in relation to it.
If you come to me wanting a shift in any area but
unconsciously committed to staying stuck, there is nothing
that will help you get to it. The state of consciousness
that created the problem needs to be shifted, and only you
can own your capacity to do so. If you are willing and
committed, we will play in that domain, and we will work
together to move toward the state of mind in which problems
resolve effortlessly. The point is, that when a caterpillar
wants to fly, the coach can't teach him. The coaches role
is to inspire an opening for the caterpillar to see what's
possible.
Rather then needing to teach
you something, my style and philosophy holds that
you know
exactly what to do, who to be, and what you are really
wanting in life. The best way that I can
support you is by being a really finely tuned mirror. The
more honest I can be with what I sense and see, the more
valuable my feedback will be. Coaching with this particular
style is transformative in its own right, because I will
not watch you swim in circles without speaking up, I will
point out the stuff that is not so easy to look at, and
support you in claiming your opportunity to true growth,
the possibility that is available in every moment of your
life.
