Using
body-centered intelligence in answering questions:
When a question is asked of you, become aware of the often
quick answer that comes from the mind, and let the question
soak into your body, let it saturate your cells. Become
aware of your body and wait for an answer to emerge.
Alternatively, when preparing to answer a question or
series of them, sit and center yourself, adjusting the way
your are sitting to align your spine. Scan your body once
from head to toe. Survey the head, the neck, the arms, the
torso, and all the way down. Doing your best to maintain
this awareness, read the questions and wait for the
answers, noticing that you don't need to think to access
them.
If this is difficult for you, then it is indicated that
your awareness of the mind-body connection would benefit
from specific practice in this area.
Using numbers
to gauge your levels of commitment, or to tune in more
deeply with body-centered wisdom:
When you ask yourself questions that have the symbol of
(1-10) on them, there are a couple of ways to gauge the
answer along a scale. You can make an affirmative statement
of a possible answer and wait - noticing how you feel and
then deciding how authentic your statement sounded - and
then simply grading that somewhere along the range. You can
also just get curious about how true the statement is, and
wait for an intuitive response from the body, from your
"gut instinct." Numbers help with gauging progress over
time, and imagining them changing serves the imagination
like a key opens a door.
