Join the HOME network here

The HOME Project envisions a thriving global community that embraces harmony, collaboration, and reverence for each-other and for the natural world.

The Mission of the HOME Project is to support the emergence of a sustainable civilization by creating space for community to gather, learn, grow, heal, and celebrate the birth of a new way of relating to each-other and the natural world.

The Sustainable Living Project

The purpose of the Sustainable Living Project is to serve as a vehicle through which we can easily invite collaboration, allocate resources, and align with the already momentous movement towards a Sustainable way of living.

Our current focus is on developing curriculum for implementation on the college level with an emphasis on Sustainability and Consciousness, Ecopsychology, Intentional Community Design, and Transformative Action.

Opening

Thank you for visiting this site.  People all around the world are coming together to spark collaborative change in the way that we relate to each other and to the natural world.  This site is a resource we can use to support this movement.  On this site you will find information about the project, our calendar (check the toolbar above under the HOME link) and invitations.

This site has been largely inspired by the work of Joanna Macy, a teacher and wisdom keeper of our time.  Joanna Macy has developed an international presence over the last 40 years as a speaker and workshop leader.  The frameworks for her workshops are available and utilized in schools, churches, community centers, and community training organizations around the world.

The concepts and theoretical foundations for the great turning, its aspects, and the relevance of the work that reconnects are largely rooted in her work, especially that of her website and guidebook to the work.

Jonathan Haber is a student of Joanna Macy and a presenter and facilitator for workshops and gatherings that integrate her work. Joanna Macy's practices are known as the work that reconnects, and these practices are integrated with many other offerings, especially from the transformative learning field and the expressive arts.

Through the desire to present this work to broadening audiences, the HOME Project was born.

The HOME Project

"Is an inspiring example of how dedication
to a
common vision can serve as a catalyst
for something new"

"Coming to this circle is probably one of the
most powerful things I have ever done"

"We live in challenging times.  Our common relationship with the earth is causing the web of life that is our life support system to unravel.  Because we cannot ignore this pain, we unknowingly sacrifice our aliveness as we shut it out and go numb.

Rooted in Engaged Buddhism, Applied Systems Theory, and Deep Ecology, Joanna Macy brings us experiential exercises that support us in coming back to the full experience of living and appreciating life. These experiences support the ushering in of a new way of relating to each other and to the earth...

You are invited
to join us in this exploration.

Poetic Reflections
Largely from workshop experiences with joanna macy, these are some of my favorite poems.

Spoken Word
How can the expressive arts serve as a vehicle to convey a message, or to illicit a learning experience from within an individual?
